Who knows what happens to plastic after repeated cooking in the microwave oven and what sort of health risks that produces. The glass containers serve their purpose very well. There are many sizes in the set so what you can chose the right one. They close securely and nothing leaks from them. They keep the food well, there is none of this plasticy smell from them. They can be used in the microwave and they clean up well. <br />They cannot be used for baking though. Otherwise it is a good quality product.
